He loved so many things about living and loving the people he met in that great country.</p><p>He made many friends for life, and part of his heart will forever belong to the people he served as a missionary.</p><p>Chance returned with an extra glow about him, a mantle of growth, independence and wisdom. </p><p>As a line from one of his favorite movies, "The Man From Snowy River," says: </p><p>"He's not a lad, brother, he's a man." Spur</p><p>Elder Paxton did indeed return home a man. He had lived over seas for two years, lived through a pandemic where he was locked in a flat for 23 hours a day at times, learned to plan out meals, when the grocery stores were getting low on food, spent time being isolated in his flat with companions he had only just met, prepared flats for other owners when moving out, and lived for several months surrounded by people wearing masks, which is NOT the most optimal environment for a deaf person to hear in. He had grown from a lad to a man.</p><p>We were sure excited to see and hug him after a two year separation.</p><p>Due to COVID, we were not able to go into the airport to meet him, but instead waited out in part of an empty airport parking lot waiting for him to exit outside.</p><p>We all were wearing masks, which made the reunion even more suspenseful after being apart for two years since everyone had grown a foot or two in that period of time.</p><p>Chance had been on a plane for a loooooong time with a couple of lay overs by the time he got home to us......and he looked just perfect!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I got the first hug.......just as it should be. </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM61TShgPZD9Ew63KhO9qaDwYiHZJqCWlpvW3u61-LU9HCju4PhK7rbwQNAdFYOAqFW8jQJTCwgFU9Fy1yhlQaSZ6OsXxMJpCdCdtKGAciabLpsuQKnmUWllqsbPUbadCAQYAX/s4032/IMG_5423.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; color: #222222; font-size: small;">Hello everyone! Some of you may know and some of you may not know. This week is my last full week in the mission. It is a humbling experience. Lot's of thoughts on my mission and what I gained from it. I will save some of those things that I learned and the person I have been able to become for next week. </span></p><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Last week was a good one. I got to work a pretty good amount on editing my video and this week I will be going into the mission office to work with our technology specialist to get things finalized. It is exciting! I am so stoked to get this video done! </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">We were also able to meet with mostly recent converts which is amazing because I am able to see them grow and to see their testimonies continue to be strengthened. It was totally awesome! I love being able to strengthen and help the people here in England whether they are members or nonmembers. I love meeting with, getting to know, teaching, and learning from the people of England and China. It has been an incredible experience. </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Our mission president has asked us to get outside every single day and to do some form of exercise whether it be a walk, running, or sports of some kind. This past week we decided to go play some frisbee and so we went to a field to do that. The thing about the fields here is they are always wet and muddy. For this particular experience, it was exciting, so after we finished playing frisbee, we decided to run through mud puddles and it was super super fun! </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">The other elders in our flat have someone who is getting baptized this coming Saturday and it is super exciting! I got to meet her and talk with her and she has a very strong faith and belief in this church. Covid might be halting a lot of things, but it sure ain't halting the work of the Lord. The Lord will go forward no matter what Satan does to try to stop it! I have had a front row seat in this work continue to move forward during these times and it has been thrilling! </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">Keep drawing closer to God. Keep doing your prayers, scripture study, going to church (where and when you can) and keeping God's commandments. Times may be hard, but the best thing we can do now is to draw closer to him. I have a lot of work ahead of me this week. We have a lot of lessons and a lot of videos that we are working on which I ain't gonna complain about because it keeps me busy and it keeps me going!</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">This past week we actually had an incident occur. We went shopping and came back to the flat and our window was open and we were all like, "uh oh." We went inside and there was nothing that had been taken and so we were curious as to what someone had broken into our flat for. Fast forward to that evening, the other Elders were making some deep fried Oreo's and they were joking about needing the fire extinguisher because it was getting smoky, so they looked at the wall where the fire extinguisher is supposed to be and it was gone! So we came to the conclusion that perhaps someone had a fire and needed an extinguisher real quick. Who knows haha. We ended up buying some locks for our windows so no one can get in now. </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">This past week I learned a really valuable lesson. I learned the principle of doing our best then letting go. I had been talking to my older brother last week about some challenges I was facing and he reminded me to do my best and then let go of the rest. That really stood out to me. I was able to feel a burden lifted off my shoulders and the presence of the spirit more as I applied that teaching. </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">There will be times when despite all that we do, things will not go how we want them to, or how we hoped they would. When we do all that we can, and sometimes fall a little short, or someone chooses contrary to that which is right, that is where the Savior's atonement comes in. After we do all that we can do, with a prayer in our hearts, the Savior takes care of the rest. We can do everything we can to help souls come unto Christ, to invite them to better themselves, and walk in righteousness, but in the end we are just an instrument in the hands of God, Jesus Christ is the one that does the work. This is his work, not ours. He is the one that changes the hearts of people, not us. </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">My dear friends, do what you can do. Keep trying, keep giving it your best, and once you have done all you can do, give it over to the Savior. Completely. If we don't let it go, the Savior cannot take it, even if we hold on to one itty bitty piece. Do your best, then let Christ take care of the rest. </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">I love you all! text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Chance also had this to say in the email he sent to us with the pictures:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">Last week I also read a talk about China by President Oaks and it was so inspiring. As I listened it struck me that, my calling as a missionary to teach and help the Chinese people does not end when my mission is over. The Lord did not call me to teach, help, and connect with the Mandarin Chinese people only on my mission. This is a LIFETIME calling. The Lord has much in store for the Chinese people, and I'm meant to help with a little piece in helping the Chinese people learn more about God and Jesus Christ. I am grateful to the Lord with entrusting me with this calling. I hope that I may be a servant and instrument in the hands of the Lord throughout the remainder of my mission and life.</p><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">Now, for the spiritual thought.<br />The story of the Brother of Jared has really intrigued me these past couple of weeks of the faith and humily of these people. One part that I really liked was Ether 6:9 which says:</p><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">9 - "And they did sing praises unto the Lord; yea, the brother of Jared did sing praises unto the Lord, and he did thank and praise the Lord all the day long; and when the night came, they did not cease to praise the Lord."</p><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">They were in the middle of their travel to the promised land on the sea and they did continue to "thank and praise the Lord". This scripture goes right in line with President Nelson's video that he released on Gratitude.<a href="https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/president-nelson-gratitude-message">https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/president-nelson-gratitude-message</a> It is so important to be grateful for the things that we have. He said that being grateful is one of the easiest ways to be happy and I agree! Continue to be grateful my dear friends no matter what you are going through. Remember to recognize the Lord for all the blessings you have received and give your thanks and praises. <span face="sans-serif">It will bless you forever. </span></p><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">I love all of y'all so much! I hope you have a great week and a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!</p><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">Love,</p><p dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">Elder Paxton</p></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /> <p></p>Chance's Momhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15725886449158251703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27535515.post-91025374097829398062021-02-03T20:59:00.000-07:002021-02-03T20:59:01.259-07:00What Has Chance Been Doing?<p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwgKiNLtI8HxC0SVJ9cbPRCw0Rh8_bOAivmfJDJIAcZaCCg6WFCiTOqU-cAsZh7VjTxCKpDJdFbmCgXlX1SQg-quTDHsdTcsxkhqiWT6pDKlHogOdvFaPU-BwT-3q_Uc71jy9V/s4032/IMG_5151.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1904" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwgKiNLtI8HxC0SVJ9cbPRCw0Rh8_bOAivmfJDJIAcZaCCg6WFCiTOqU-cAsZh7VjTxCKpDJdFbmCgXlX1SQg-quTDHsdTcsxkhqiWT6pDKlHogOdvFaPU-BwT-3q_Uc71jy9V/w189-h400/IMG_5151.JPG" width="189" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">So you may be asking what it is that Chance has been doing on his mission in England this past while.</p><p style="text-align: center;">He has experienced another lock down due to COVID 19 and has been getting a good view of the inside of his flat.</p><p style="text-align: center;">He lives with three other missionaries in the flat and though one traditionally does</p><p style="text-align: center;">a bit of sight seeing when living abroad, Chance or Elder Paxton as he is called on his mission</p><p style="text-align: center;">has not seen much of the country the last few weeks as only essential stores are open.</p><p style="text-align: center;">BUT, he is in good spirits and is working on a project that is close to his heart.</p><p style="text-align: center;">We are excited to see the finished project at home, and will be adding a bit of our</p><p style="text-align: center;">insights to Chance's story.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Elder Paxton talks about the project in his email home this week:</p><p style="text-align: center;"><span face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-size: small; text-align: start;">Hello Everyone!</span></p><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">This past week has been a good one! Missionary work is simple! A lot of people think that missionary work is hard, but it really isn't! It just takes a simple conversation, or a simple smile, or even just having your Book of Mormon in the windshield of your car! God loves us and he loves his children. He wants them to learn the gospel too. We are now in part 2 of lock down here in England and it has been good! We know what we are doing and we have been battle tested. We've been through this before. We can still go outside so that is a huge bonus! Hallelujah! </div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">We have been doing music and then also been doing stuff on social media, I may also get some new apps and social media platforms to do missionary work! One thing we are also planning on doing is going to cemetery's and uploading pictures of gravestones to Family Search. I am actually really excited for that! I am going to start doing a little more family history and indexing so I'm super excited for that as well! </div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">We have a couple of new people who are interested in meeting with us and learning about the Gospel! One of them happens to be one of the Ladies we did service for this past week! Before the lock down hit, we were able to do service for two ladies and it was wonderful to get some manual labor in and they were very grateful and curious in what we do. Service really does do miracles! (Read <a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bofm/morm/7?lang=eng" target="_blank">Mormon Chapters 7-9</a> and <a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/come-follow-me-for-primary-book-of-mormon-2020/43?lang=eng">Come Follow Me</a> for more on miracles.) </div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">A scripture that I really liked from this past week was Mormon 8:35 which says:</div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">"Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing." </div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">I actually find this scripture really comforting. The Book of Mormon was written by prophets who saw us, and knew about our circumstances today. The Book of Mormon is truly written for our day. It wasn't just written so we would have a cool record, no, they actually saw us and knew what challenges we would face and included in the Book of Mormon how we can overcome those challenges. This verse also allows me to self reflect and think about the things that I am doing. Are the actions that I make and the choices that I choose ones that would make the prophets of old proud and hopeful for our day? If they saw me, did they see a faithful follower that gave them happiness and hope?? My prayer is that the answer is yes. I invite you to think on those questions yourself. </div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">I hope that y'all have a great week and keep being Great!! </div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">With much Love, </div>Chance's Momhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15725886449158251703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27535515.post-12378623430014561162020-09-27T22:52:00.000-06:002020-09-27T22:52:58.847-06:00Dodge Trucks in England<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn1WaCIbSoTVFtj59iXK2rJby1k9I6z4QkqL92w2fVm1z6625g-NaU9LqMTsJ3-YReq-bFyUQou5Op103G3-7I570lTjOdgxALVzjxPqY7fMMa7-Hw1FvR6_1cxzzPgj26MTGz/s2048/20200921_103816.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn1WaCIbSoTVFtj59iXK2rJby1k9I6z4QkqL92w2fVm1z6625g-NaU9LqMTsJ3-YReq-bFyUQou5Op103G3-7I570lTjOdgxALVzjxPqY7fMMa7-Hw1FvR6_1cxzzPgj26MTGz/w640-h480/20200921_103816.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">People who are visiting England take pictures of various things to remind them of their trip.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Some people take pictures of cathedrals.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Others take pictures of the countryside.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Still others take pictures of the red phone booths.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Chance takes pictures of Dodge trucks.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Each person notices different things while visiting or living in a foreign country.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Chance gravitates to trucks.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Especially American trucks.</p><p style="text-align: center;">In his own words:</p><p style="text-align: center;">"<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: left;"> </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: left;">I saw this awesome old Dodge truck here and It's right next to our flat! I loved them! But they were also VERY spicy! So the running joke now is that whenever we eat spicy food, we make a sound like a train horn and we demonstrate with our hands the spiciness coming out of our ears. It's really funny. I've also been nicknamed the Milky Way in this flat because of how much Milk I drink, so whenever I drink Milk, one of the Elders looks at me and goes, it's the Milky way. It's been a blast with the other Elders here. </span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;">Lastly, the past week Elder and Sister Rasband had a face2face event for the Young Adults and it was so good! They answered some questions and I felt the spirit so strongly. I would encourage and invite all of you to go listen to it, especially the Young Adults! One of my favorite things that I heard from it was when he said something along the lines of "The most studying and pondering you should do, should be of the latest words of the Prophets and Apostles." It makes so much sense because they are revealing and guiding us for our very day. They are living with us and are receiving Revelation from God on what we should do and how we should do things. The Prophets and Apostles are magnificent people. If you aren't sure if they are truly called by God, go read some of their talks and pay attention to your feelings. <div style="text-align: center;">
A member of the ward that Chance is serving in delivered some fish and chips to the flat for Chance and his companion.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance was very excited about this and recorded it with a picture to keep forever and ever. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Food is very important in the life of a young man. Especially a young man who is spending lots of time in his flat during a pandemic.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is always good to see that he is eating well and that there are kind people helping him find the good foods of England.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has been able to spend some more time outside the last little while and we love getting the updates and pictures of the things he sees and is able to explore. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance and his companion have been doing some creative things while they have been in lock down in their flat. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
His companion enjoys drawing and even drew a picture of Chance. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has been playing the guitar and writing little fun songs about what he sees happening outside.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance and his companion also put together an incredible video about Jesus Christ while doing a puzzle in their flat. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;">We were attending our wards Sunday meeting online yesterday and our Bishop came on and said that it has been the sunniest spring on record here which is awesome because we have been able to go outside and really enjoy the sun. I'm actually getting a tan too which I never knew would be possible in England </span><img alt="😂" class="CToWUd" data-goomoji="1f602" data-image-whitelisted="" goomoji="1f602" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/e/1f602" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; margin: 0px 0.2ex; max-height: 24px; text-align: start; vertical-align: middle;" /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
We had the opportunity to reach out to a lot of members again and we also got to play spike ball with our zone leaders! It was so fun!! It was so weird to interact with other people, I almost didn't know what to say or how to interact with them, its gonna be a process getting my people skills back haha</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
It's been a good week y'all! A little update, it's looking like we won't really be able to do a whole lot until July 4th at the earliest. We can meet people outside of our household up to 6 people now so we're gonna start seeing if we can meet some of the members in parks and whatnot. Its gonna be so nice to see a few people face to face. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: center;">
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
The spiritual thought that I wanted to share today comes from Alma 4:13-14. It says: </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
"13 Now this was a great cause for lamentations among the people, while others were abasing themselves, succoring those who stood in need of their succor, such as imparting their substance to the poor and the needy, feeding the hungry, and suffering all manner of afflictions, for Christ’s sake, who should come according to the spirit of prophecy;</div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
<span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> </span>14 Looking forward to that day, thus retaining a remission of their sins; being filled with great joy because of the resurrection of the dead, according to the will and power and deliverance of Jesus Christ from the bands of death."</div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
I love this scripture because it shows the righteous people being such a good example despite what was going on around them. I loved their example of reaching out to help and serve others. I especially love the line "thus retaining a remission of their sins; being filled with great joy". </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
I wrote down in my scriptures that because they were serving others and giving of their substance, keeping their baptismal covenant by willing to bear one anothers burdens and to mourn with those that were mourning and comforting those that needed comforting, they were able to experience great joy, and not only from that but because of their continual repentance. They retained a remission of their sins. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
My dear friends and family, repentance is crucial in our progression and also in our current happiness. I want you to think back to a time when you had a burden of sin, and then I want you to think of how it felt when you sought forgiveness, and asked God to forgive you of your sins. Do you remember how that felt? Do you remember the freeing feeling of that burden? Do you remember the joy and happiness that you felt? </div>
<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start;">
That is the great blessing and miracle of repentance. It allows us to not only change, but to replace our burdens of sin with feelings of happiness and joy. It allows us to feel the greatest freedom we have ever felt. Perhaps you feel that burden of sin right now, seek forgiveness. It is never too late, nor are you ever out of the reach of the Savior's great atoning sacrifice. Take the steps necessary to feel of the true joy and happiness of Jesus Christ and his gospel. I have felt this feeling on my mission, and it is amazing to feel it all just go away. I know you can have that same feeling too. I love you all so much, keep doing what you're doing, keep trying to become a little better each day. Y'all are amazing. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you, including prayers! Have a great week! </div>

Chance had a desperate few hours last week. He couldn't find one of the </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
battery packs for his implants.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When he called home, he told us that he had looked everywhere and couldn't find it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He and his companion had looked everywhere they could think of and had come up empty.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since they are still spending most of their time in their flat due to COVID 19, it was hard to imagine</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
where an implant battery pack could have ended up since</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
it wasn't really going to that many places. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance was starting to get a little nervous about its whereabouts </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and when he did finally find it, he sheepishly told us that</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
he had found it in one of his pant pockets that was in the laundry.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He may have had a panic moment with his implant battery pack, but on the positive side,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
he and his companion are allowed out of the flat for about 3 hours a day now, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so they have been able to do some exploring of their English hometown.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He has been sending home some nice pictures that give us a feel for his place of residence. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is part of what Chance shared this week in his email home:</div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;">The only pictures I took this week were from our walks. We found this amazing Woodlands place that we can explore now and It has been just amazing. The last picture is a cemetery we visited on one of our walks. </span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
We also had a jeopardy game with the missionaries in our stake and it was so much fun! Elder Sprouse and I did so good and came up in first! It was a lot of question about the bible, book of Mormon, church history, and other miscellaneous things as well. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
We are now allowed to go for 3 hour walks each day and it has been a wonderful blessing! I have loved every minute I have had outside. It is so amazing!</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
This week I wanted to share a thought from Mosiah 24:14-15 </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
This is the Lord talking to Alma and his brethren in their afflictions. They have been through persecution by Amulon and his people. The first thing they did was call out upon the Lord and ask for his help. They didn't try to get themselves out, rather, they trusted in God and called upon him. I love this scripture because whatever our burdens are, however big for small they are, they can be made light. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
The Savior performed his great atoning sacrifice to not only cover our mistakes, sins, weaknesses, and shortcomings, he did it as a means to allow our burdens to be lightened from off our backs and our shoulders. The Savior has already felt all those burdens. We don't need to go through those burdens ourselves because we are not relying on the Savior, that would be defeating the whole purpose of Christ's Atonement. So allow the Savior to help you. Give everything over to him, and trust in him wholly. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
In so doing, we can be strengthened and submit cheerfully to the will of the Lord, and live joyful grand lives! This is my testimony, our burdens can and will be lifted because of the great enabling power of Christ's Atonement. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I love you all! I hope you have a great week! Please let me know how you are doing and if there is anything I can do for you.</div>

Being out and seeing nature is really good for Chance's mental health.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He loves all things nature and being able to see animals.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He has always been this way.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is what Chance had to say this week in his weekly email home:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">大家好!</span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Hello everybody! Another week has come and gone, it seems to fly by like it did when we were outside now. Which is really weird. It has been 54 (7 weeks, 5 days) days since we have been inside. People keep asking me how I do this, and how I have not been going insane. It kind of surprises me too. I have gone a little insane, don't get me wrong, If I hadn't, then there would be something wrong with me haha. I think a lot of it has been that we've been able to continue to focus on others and their needs even though we are all inside. We have been working with a lot of members and this past week we have been able to communicate with a couple of people that could potentially be interested in the Gospel so we will see how that goes!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">We haven't been able to teach a whole lot of nonmembers since we have been inside. Most of the people we were teaching returned back to China. However, we have been able to learn a lot of lessons while in Isolation. I have learned a lot about patience, humility, and other things while here. It has been amazing. As my mission president's wife, Sister Green told me last week, "You are getting a crashcourse of a whole lot of lessons that will set you up for the rest of your life." It's so true! We can all learn lessons that will help us when we come out of Quarantine.</span><br />
<div dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I want to share a thought with you that I got from a BYU speech that Elder Bednar gave called, "In the Strength of the Lord." He said:</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
"There is no physical pain, no anguish of soul, no suffering of spirit, no infirmity or weakness that you or I ever experience during our mortal journey that the Savior did not experience first. You and I in a moment of weakness may cry out, “No one understands. No one knows.” No human being, perhaps, knows. But the Son of God perfectly knows and understands, for He felt and bore our burdens before we ever did. And because He paid the ultimate price and bore that burden, He has perfect empathy and can extend to us His arm of mercy in so many phases of our life. He can reach out, touch, and succor—literally run to us—and strengthen us to be more than we could ever be and help us to do that which we could never do through relying only upon our own power."</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I love this. The Savior understands you and I perfectly, even in quarantine. This event is no surprise to him. He felt all of this before it even happened. In those times when you feel annoyed, angry, frustrated, sad, lonely, or anything else in this circumstance, know that the Savior understands. It doesn't just take remembering the Savior and his sacrifice that is going to help us, we have to act. We need to call upon the enabling power of Christ to cover all of our weaknesses, imprefections, and mistakes. We need to pray and say, I need help with this situation I am going through, please give me the strength to endure through it.<br />
In this talk he talks a lot about how in times of hardships, instead of asking to be delivered FROM our trials, we need to ask to be delivered IN our trials.<br />
I invite you to read through this talk. It has a lot of amazing insights and it helped me understand so much more about what the Atonement of Christ is. Here is the link for the talk.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
The current pandemic has caused a lot of pain and suffering for many people worldwide</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and I certainly don't mean to make light of that suffering.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did have to chuckle a little bit though, when I saw Chance in his make shift mask</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
for going out......it is a bandana....just like the bandanas that</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance used to wear when he played cowboy as a little boy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCITi18H3H3Tcb9jcgCJI9Aj4S4iPM5HiVCTXi1EUoxhBB8NbHNKurT1WmL65aKxkPTso5TUnSlQrIUvvwdHIvf1dHGyy4JwOGJRFLZwoi9jMqLFQeXfF2SXrDtcBOplKvEBkW/s1600/20200413_162252+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCITi18H3H3Tcb9jcgCJI9Aj4S4iPM5HiVCTXi1EUoxhBB8NbHNKurT1WmL65aKxkPTso5TUnSlQrIUvvwdHIvf1dHGyy4JwOGJRFLZwoi9jMqLFQeXfF2SXrDtcBOplKvEBkW/s400/20200413_162252+%25281%2529.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance also mentioned in his last email home, that his hair was growing a bit long</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
as he has not been out to get a haircut for quite a while now and the picture of him in his </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
bandana mask also shows that his hair is quite a bit longer than it used to be.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance is still spending all day in his flat, only going out when he and his mission </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
companion need food once a week and for their daily walk. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance had this to share in his email this week:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I wanted to share with y'all a thought that I had this past week from my Personal Study. I was studying a lot about faith, hope, and charity. More specifically Hope. While I was studying this I read Ether 12:4. It says: </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
"4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I loved this scripture because it mentions the word Anchor. Hope is an anchor. It helps us to continue forward. It helps us to be rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ and trust that he has a plan, and that he knows the way, and that through him all things can be accomplished. Going along with that, Elder Holland's most recent General Conference address was amazing! And I loved that he shared that even though we have Hope's that may not come true in the near future, we can know that someday, somehow, in some way, we can have our Hope's and righteous desires. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter even though it was different. Keep being awesome and keep doing what you can to stay sane. Keep praying for this Coronavirus to be lifted so that we can return to a "normalized life". Don't know that will look like or when that'll be, but we can trust in God.</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: center;">
Chance and I have been talking about the rebirth that spring brings and about how the</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: center;">
earth is putting on a display of her visual delights and smells.</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: center;">
I asked Chance to take pictures of some of the blossoms he is seeing on his walks and he sent </div>

Chance is still spending each day chilling out in his flat each day as the COVID 19 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
pandemic moves through England.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am very grateful that boy learned to cook.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He is making some good meals and at least eating more than</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
junk food.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He continues to study his scriptures each day, refine his language skills</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in Mandarin and prepare for the day when he and his </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
companion can go back out into the world.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance's phone calls home and his Facebook posts are uplifting</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to all of us and help us stay connected.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am excited to see the pictures he sends home of spring in England.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He forgot to attach his pictures this week though we </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
got the descriptions of what each picture was.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We'll just have to wait for next week to see the actual pictures, although<br />
we do know from his descriptions that we will see a swan on a river.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is what Chance had to say in his email home this week:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto">
General Conference <a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/general-conference/?lang=eng" target="_blank">https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/general-conference/?lang=eng</a> was truly amazing and such a blessing. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have my questions that I had, answered. It was great to hear the wonderful messages. There was a lot of different overall themes, and one of them that I loved was talking about Unity. </div>
<div dir="auto">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto">
My family and friends, unity is so key in this gospel. We all have differences, we all have different ideas sometimes, but that is okay. Because these differences truly can compliment each other. It is when we all come together that great things come to pass. We are all sons and daughters of God, let's unite in the same thing that we all believe in, Jesus Christ and his Gospel. Everything else will fall into place. </div>
<div dir="auto">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto">
Keep reviewing through the general conference talks frequently. It will bring many blessings into your life. As president Nelson said (I'm paraphrasing), As we listen to the prophets and apostles, we will be guided through this maze. And we will have more power to resist the adversary and his tactics. We will also have power to get through our trials. </div>
<div dir="auto">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto">
I love you all so much! Keep doing what you can in quarantine. I invite each of you to use social media as a platform to share the gospel and the wonderful peace and hope that it brings. You never know who it can reach. So start posting stuff about the gospel, if we all do it, the whole world will see it, and more and more will increasingly become interested in what we share. </div>
<div dir="auto">

Yes, Elder Paxton is still on his mission in England.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The world has titled a bit on it's axis since there was an update on Elder Paxton.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As of this moment, Chance and his companion are laying low in their flat.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They are not leaving the flat except for when they need food, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
are staying away from other people.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance and his companion can go out on walks to get some exercise once a day and they </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
have been doing that.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has sent some pictures of the sights he is seeing on his walks.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
People keep asking me if I am worried about Chance being over in England</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so far from home during this time of uncertaintly.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love Chance with all of my heart, but I know that he is in God's hands.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had a personal witness when Chance left on his mission that God is looking out for my boy and</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
that he is where he needs to be.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We are so grateful for his mission president and his wife along</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
with other church leaders who love these missionaries as well</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and are keeping up on the latest news of how the virus is</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
acting in England and are helping the missionaries take the necessary precautions.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It truly is the Lord's work that Chance and all other missionaries are involved in</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My heart aches for those who are suffering and have lost loved ones</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
during the onslaught of this virus.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is hard to understand sometimes why things happen and why people must suffer.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't have all of the answers to that.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But the verse of scripture that keeps coming to my mind, and that Chance </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and I have talked about is found in the 46th Psalm:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Be still and know that I am God."</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And that is the scripture that I think about when I think about my boy</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
being across the world in a country that is having a surge</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in virus cases right now.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now Chance and his companion are confined mostly to their flat unless they</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
need to go out for food or to take a walk for exercise.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This can be a challenging situation for young men, to be confined</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to your flat, but they are studying, teaching people when they can through other means<br />
other than physical contact, and working on their Mandarin language skills.<br />
God bless us all, where ever we are located, through this unprecedented time<br />
Sending out love to all.<br />
<br />
Here is what Chance has had to say during the past few weeks:<br />

<div class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline; font-family: inherit;">
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 6px;">
I take comfort in this, knowing that I can walk with my Savior and be filled with his Love, Peace, Comfort, and Joy. No matter what I am going through, I know that when I get on my knees and pray, I can feel his presence.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
He is walking with us. He leads and guides each one of us. He is in the very details of our lives.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
We will all go through hard times, but we do not need to face it alone. We have a Savior who understands everything that we go through. Who, when we go through hard times, we can call out to him, saying, "O Savior, Stay this night with me; Behold 'tis eventide."</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
He is there for you. He will not leave you comfortless. Take his hand, and let him guide you. He loves you and wants what is best for you. Rely on him, let him become your rock and foundation.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
I invite you to hand everything over to the Savior. Give him all your worries, your sadness, your pain, and anything else you are feeling. He will take it from off your shoulders. Pray, and ask for his help, for his peace and comfort. Ask for the strength to get through everything you are going through. We are all going through something, no matter who we are, and can use his Peace and his Comfort.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
As you pray and hand everything over to him, I promise that you will feel his peace and love for you. You will feel lighter.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
He truly wants to help you.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin: 6px 0px;">
Take His Hand, and Walk with Him.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance continues to serve in England. He continues to have many incredible experiences</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and loves the people he is meeting and teaching.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He and his companion have been holding an English class for Chinese people</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
who want to learn or better their English.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He has really enjoyed it and has met some incredible people. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has also had opportunities to indulge in some of his favorite past times.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Playing in a soccer simulation on his P-day</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Preparation day, which happens once a week and is the day missionaries</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
do their laundry, go grocery shopping, clean their flat, have opportunities to</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
play sports with other missionaries and sometimes sight see</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in the area where they live.)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He was also able to hold Bobby again, Chance loves every opportunity to </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
bond with animals and he seems to have developed a </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
particular liking for Bobby.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has also discovered there in England that he loves Thai food.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A member took Chance and his companion out to eat at a Thai restuarant</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and now our boy has a new love.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The mango ice cream for dessert was also a favorite.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He also saw an amazing sunset and Chance loves his sunsets.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a bit of what Chance had to say in his email home:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">This past week has been really good! We've been able to see a lot of good work come from our efforts!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">We've been contacting and talking with a ton of Asian people (Mostly Chinese, and some people from Vietnam, Thailand, and Nepal).</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">We had a really successful Chinese Class this past week. We had 15 different people come and we had so much fun with them all! We taught them about some English slang words and idioms. It was so fun! We are now teaching a girl that we met at English Class and she also came to church with us yesterday!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">The Chinese language, culture, and people are incredible! It has been so great and fun talking to and getting to know Chinese People! They are such fun and are amazing people!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">We've been having a lot more lessons with Chinese people and it has been truly amazing! We have been speaking and listening to more Chinese and it has been developing my Chinese skills a ton!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">This past week I've been read <a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/16?lang=eng" target="_blank">1 Nephi 16-18</a> and it has been amazing. I have grown to love Nephi so much! There are a couple of verses that I absolutely love. The first is in 1 Nephi 17 verse 8-9.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"And it came pass that the Lord spake unto me, saying: Thou shalt construct a ship, after the manner which I shall show thee, that I may carry thy people across these waters.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">And I said: Lord, whither shall I go that I may find ore to molten, that I may make tools to construct the ship after the manner which thou hast shown unto me?"</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">And the second verse is 1 Nephi 16:23</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did make out of wood a bow, and out of a straight stick, an arrow; wherefore, I did arm myself with a bow and an arrow, with a sling and with stones. And I said unto my father: Whither shall I go to obtain food?"</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I absolutely love these two passages of scripture because it is a great example to me of how I should act. When Nephi was told that he needed to build a ship, he didn't murmur, but rather, asked God what he should do and how he should do it. He literally lives the words from 1 Nephi 3:7</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded."</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Then he did the same thing when his bow broke. He didn't complain, he just went and made another one.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">So my invitation to you is to not wonder why the bad things are happening to you, but rather focus on what these things are teaching and what lessons you can learn. Don't be bitter, be better!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I love you all so much! Keep me updated on y'alls lives! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has been has been experiencing some big changes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
during his time across the pond.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Right after Christmas, his dear friend Robbie died.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Robbie was a member of the church from England that Chance</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
got to know and love. Robbie and his wife have secured a big space in Chance's</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
heart and he has cherished his time with them.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Robbie was sick when Chance met him and they knew he didn't</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
have much time left to live.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance was able to spend some of the holidays with Robbie and his wife as well</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
as sharing yummy food and activities with them </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and people who were interested in the church.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is what Chance wrote about the loss of Robbie:</div>
<i><br /><br /><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">He always had a smile on his face whenever I saw him and I immediately would smile because it was just so contagious. He loved having me over and I enjoyed being with him every second I was with him.<br />Just recently, Robbie passed away. I miss his smile and the excitement he would have every time we talked about motorcycles and country music. He is a friend that will be missed not only by me, but all others who were influenced by him and his smile.<br /><br /><br />There are many people who have gone through similar circumstances of losing a loved one in their life, whether that be a friend, a grandparent, or a member of their immediate family. These people have many questions that often go through their minds. Such as:<br /><br /><br />1. Will I see them again?<br /><br /><br />2. Where do people go when they die?<br /><br /><br />3. Is our life on Earth the only thing there is and then we're gone?<br /><br /><br />The amazing thing is, there are answers to these questions. They come from something called the Plan of Salvation, otherwise known as the Plan of Happiness, which is God's Plan. From the Plan of Salvation we learn where we come from, why we are here, and where we go. We also receive answers to many other questions like "Will I see my loved one again?"<br /><br /><br />The truth is, we do go somewhere after we die. A place called the Spirit World where we learn more about Jesus Christ and his Gospel. It is in this place that we will be able to see our loved ones again.<br /><br /><br />It is my testimony that I know we will see our family members and others again after this life. We will have the opportunity to see those that we miss so dearly. I know that all of this is possible because of our savior Jesus Christ. God loves each one of us and wants us each to receive of this knowledge of the Plan of Salvation.<br /><br /><br />I invite you to learn more about the Plan of Salvation. If you already know about it, study it more. If you are new to this knowledge, please send me a message and I will be happy to help answer any of your questions and provide more information about this Plan of Happiness.<br /></span></i></div>

<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Ever since I have come on my mission, I have been able to increasingly recognise the holy ghost and it has been such a blessing. Sometimes following those can be hard, but I have come to learn that when we follow those promptings, we feel peace and joy. It's amazing the feelings we have and the personal conversion that happens when we allign our will with Heavenly Fathers. So this week I invite you to pray, and ask God to have the ability to recognize the Holy Ghost. Pray that you will be able to not only recofnize them but be able to follow them. I promise that as you do this that you will feel more peace and joy. I love you all! Have a great week!</i></div>

</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Chance has celebrated his first Christmas season over in England. There were some wonderful people in England who helped make his first Christmas away from home special.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
We got to talk to Chance on Christmas and his companion took a video of Chance opening up the presents we sent so we got to see his reactions.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
One of the things that we sent was an apron that just happened to come in a two pack. Chance and his companion were trying to figure out what it was as he unwrapped it. Chance had to spread it out and hold it up before they realized that it was an apron. It is true, that Chance didn't ask for an apron, but it was suggested that missionaries could use one and that made perfect sense so we sent him one (or two). Missionaries in Chance's mission spend most of their days in white shirts and ties or sweaters so having an apron to protect your clothes while you make your meals makes a lot of sense.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We also sent Chance a set of small wooden logic puzzles that he had to figure out. He was working on one of the puzzles in fact when he called home on Christmas. For Chance's entire life, he has had something to put together on Christmas. Some years it was Lego sets, other years it was 3-D puzzles with directions only in Mandarin. Chance loves to put things together and figure them out. We figured he needed something on his mission to put . together on Christmas morning to keep up the tradition.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbWRjMlxnsXWNm4YshweMCG454QM-XVLTjtuSYe1KZv9Aq3_jtuzibk5FpVPFtb5HgboJ96lXcSpUcv2E-oc0K6_sJRy2H5f6wmHPeFeXk3JB4nOIp2vvsbZgwzfUtycOpqljp/s1600/79790902_1208425472690500_2800266733657522176_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbWRjMlxnsXWNm4YshweMCG454QM-XVLTjtuSYe1KZv9Aq3_jtuzibk5FpVPFtb5HgboJ96lXcSpUcv2E-oc0K6_sJRy2H5f6wmHPeFeXk3JB4nOIp2vvsbZgwzfUtycOpqljp/s320/79790902_1208425472690500_2800266733657522176_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Christmas Pajamas</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Since missionaries transfer to different areas every few months on a mission and only have limited luggage space, it is difficult for them to carry lots of extra items around with them on a long term basis.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Being in England, Chance has access to some delicious chocolate and treats so we sent a small dose of goodies he liked from home and then just sent money for him to buy what he wanted there. Chance would have to transfer and carry a Christmas stocking with him through out the rest of his mission, so instead of a traditional stocking, we sent warm socks with tread on the bottom that he can wear around his flat to keep his feet warm. And we sent Chance and his companion a set of our traditional Christmas pajamas so now they match the rest of the family.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Chance sent out a heartfelt message this week about Christmas and The Savior:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1c1e21; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 6px;">
<i>Another Christmas has come and gone and we've all had the opportunity to spend it with friends and family. We've shared laughter, gifts, and stories throughout the Holiday Season with those we love. Perhaps you've continued traditions that you've had for years, or maybe even started a new one this Christmas season.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>These are all amazing things that we have been able to do over this holiday season, but the real reason why we celebrate Christmas is because of our Savior Jesus C<span class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline; font-family: inherit;">hrist. We celebrate his birth and the gift of Jesus Christ given to us from our Heavenly Father.</span></i><br />
<i style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></i>
<i style="font-family: inherit;">But it seems to be that after the Christmas season is over, we forget the kindness, the love, and the joy that we felt or gave during the Christmas season and even sometimes why we celebrated Christmas in the first place. The amazing thing is that we don't have to let it stop after the holidays are over. We can continue to be kind and loving. We can continue to experience the joy that comes form our Savior Jesus Christ and learning more about him.</i><br />
<i style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></i>
<i style="font-family: inherit;">So this year, after the holidays are over, I invite you to not get too caught up in the busy demanding things of life, but rather, to think each day of someone you can be kind to, someone who could benefit from you telling them you love them and most importantly, to continue to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and learn more about him.</i><i style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></i><br />
<i style="font-family: inherit;">I testify that I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that he is the Savior of the world and has atoned for all mankind. I know that as we draw nearer to him, we can experience more peace, joy, and happiness then we have ever</i></div>

<i>Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays</i></div>

pumpkin pie for the holiday.</div>

He also got to tour a castle. When one is in England, touring a castle or two should</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is part of what Chance wrote home about this week:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">We also had an awesome Thanksgiving on Thursday! We had a member who is from The United States invite us over for Thanksgiving and it was so good and we got to play board games with them afterwards and got to know them some more and that was so awesome! We also had pie and that was amazing! We also gave the father a blessing afterwards because he wasn't feeling too well.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">This week I want to share a part from <a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/bc/content/shared/content/english/pdf/36035_000_25_livingchrist.pdf" target="_blank">The Living Christ</a> that really stuck out to me. It is in the 6th-7th paragraph and it says:</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"Even the voice of Jehovah, saying: 'I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father'"</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I really love this because it is Jesus Christ speaking to us and my favorite part is when he says "I am your advocate with the Father" because he really is our advocate and he really does want us to return to God's presence. He is our older brother, our redeemer, the savior of mankind. He truly wants what is best for us and when we come before God at that judgement day, he will not be telling of our wrongdoings, but rather, will be expressing the good that we did. Because of his Great Atoning Sacrifice, we can have mercy present and he truly is our advocste with the Father, and he wants what is best for us. It is up to us to choose whether or not we will follow him, and learn more about him, and grow closer to him. My invitation to you this week, is to read through "The Living Christ". It is magnificent and if you want to come to know your savior more, that is s great place to start. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer. I know that he felt everything that I have felt and that he has felt everything you have felt as well. I know that you can come to know this for yourself, just look to him, pray to the father, ask him with real intent if he is there and if his son Jesus Christ really did atone for our sins, and I promise you that you will receive your answer that God loves you, and that Jesus Christ really did atone for our sins in Gethsemane.</span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;" />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I hope y'all have a great week! Keep me updated on what's going on in life for ya! </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Since missionaries don't date on their missions, </div>

they politely declined.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Chance also met another Elder who likes</div>

trucks as much as he does, so it was a good week.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is what Chance wrote home in his email this week:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/122.7-9?lang=eng" target="_blank">Doctrine & Covenants 122:8</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"The son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?" I absolutely love this because it points out that our Savior, Jesus Christ has descended below all of our pains, our problems, our trials and not just one of us, but all of us, he has descended low enough that he is able to lift every single one of us up. Think about it, he didn't just feel the pains of one person, he felt the pains of all the world. He suffered, bled, and died for all of us, giving us the chance to gain eternal life and to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. It's quite amazing!</span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">So because he has descended below us all, he understands when we go through those hard times, through the trials, through the times when we feel that the "very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee". He truly understands all those things, he is there to help us. And because we have the Atonement of Jesus Christ, "all these things shall give thee experience and shall be for thy good." We can go through this life experiencing it, learning, and becoming better. When we make a mistake, it isn't the end, we can learn from it and become a little bit better and become more like the person we are meant to become.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">The Savior truly does understand us and everything and that each one of us goes through. I know that he truly loves us, and when we are going through those dark times in our lives, that we are not alone and that he is with us every step of the way. If you do not know this for yourself, I invite you to come to know, to read the scriptures. To pray. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me, or the local church leaders or missionaries to come to know more about our Savior Jesus Christ.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I love y'all! Have a great week!</span><br />

Chance got to see the ocean!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And he is back in a hat.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think his head was getting a bit lonely </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
without one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The hat will help</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
to protect his implants.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As a missionary, Chance is out </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and about outside a lot, so his implants</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
need some protection from the elements.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Chance has been getting a taste of </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the local cuisine as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The food is a hit with Chance.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There are some wonderful people out in Chance's </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
mission that help the missionaries</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and feed them every once in a while.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is what Chance had to say in his monthly email this past week:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">For Halloween, we went to another area in our district for exchanges with the elders and it was so much fun! We went finding along the ocean and met a lot of good people. I also found an American Shop and was in heaven! I didn't get too many things though because it was pretty expensive as you can imagine. We watched a Book of Mormon movie while there and it was awesome!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">This past week I was reading through D&C 18 verses 43-44 which says:</span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"43 And now, after that you have received this, you must keep my commandments in all things;</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">44 And by your hands I will work a marvelous work among the children of men, unto the convincing of many of their sins, that they may come unto repentance, and that they man come unto the kingdom of my father."</span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;" />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I was reading through this and I found it has a really neat message that it shares. It shares that once we keep his commandments, that by Our hands, by our efforts, that God will further his work. Think about that, when we are obedient, we become God's instrument in the convincing of others of their sins and helping them come unto repentance that they may come unto the kingdom of God. We have that power, as we are more and more obedient, the more the Lord trusts us with bringing others to his fold. Imagine the joy that we can feel in bringing others unto Christ, even if we aren't full time missionaries, as we are obedient, the Lord will provide opportunities for us to share his gospel with others. We can be that person that is another's first good introduction to the gospel and we can help them toward meeting with the missionaries and repenting and getting closer to God. What an amazing opportunity we have to share of this joyous and happy gospel that we know with others. It may seem scary, but don't be, be natural about it, as Elder Uchtdorf said, "Share what is in your heart". As we do these things, we will feel the joy of bringing others to Jesus Christ and getting to know him more. I love you all so much! I hope that you all have had a great week! Don't be afraid to shoot me an email if you have questions or if you want to talk about anything. I am here for y'all! </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance has moved!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is common on a mission to transfer every few months</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and this past week, Chance transferred</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to a city closer to the ocean.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance was really happy to see green fields full of animals again!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And he has some beautiful churches around his new home.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Chance had this to say in his email home this week:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Alright y'all! It's been a crazy week! Transfers were on Tuesday and we had to wake up early so we could get to our trains on time. My train came and I said goodbye to my old companion.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I met my new Companion in Norwich!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Y'all Norwich is so amazing! You walk like every 2 minutes and you see a church. There are so many churches here. It is incredible to see the history here in Norwich. The weather is tempered by the ocean so it isn't as crazy as it was in Nottingham sometimes.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Spititual thought:</span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">16 Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">17 Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">21 He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">22 He hath confounded mine enemies, unto the causing of them to quake before me.</span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; text-align: start;" />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I love this chapter because first of all it is what is called the Psalm of Nephi and also because this chapter really helps us to see that Nephi is a normal guy too. He isn't some guy who was always perfect. Here we can see that Nephi, even though he was a great man, was brought down in sorrow because he was falling short and also that even though he was feeling down, he was praising his God and recognized all that the Lord did for him. He felt of God's love and recognized all the Lord had done for him in delivering and protecting him from his enemies. Nephi felt these things, and it is okay that we do too, but keep going, keep trying. He felt these things and felt down, he felt short, and thought that he wasn't doing enough. I don't know about y'all but I took great comfort in that because he is a great man and he felt these things, and so when I feel these things, I know that Nephi felt the same sometimes as well.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">My dear friends, pray to God, seek his power to be strengthened against temptation and ask for the strength to continue improving. It only takes one itty bitty step everyday. Sometimes even two steps forward and one step backwards. Just keep trying, keep looking to God and praying to him, and I promise you that he will guide you, and he will help you, you will feel his hand in your life and his power.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I love you all so much! Keep trying!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is what Chance had to say this week in his weekly email home:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;">Hello Everybody! Hope this past week has been good for you all. I don't have too much time but I'll share a quick few things. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;">We went on exchanges with our zone leaders and it was really good and we also got to see Liverpool play against Sheffield United while we had lunch! It was soo good go see a match! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; text-align: start;">I want to share a scripture I read this week from the Book of Mormon:</span></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
"6 Nevertheless, I do not write anything upon plates save it be that I think it be sacred. And now, if I do err, even did they err of old; not that I would excuse myself because of other men, but because of the weakness which is in me, according to the flesh, I would excuse myself."</div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I love this scripture because Nephi is an excellent man and follower of God and yet he made mistakes, he struggled with trying to do everything the best he could. We will all fall short, but that is why the grace and Atonement of Jesus Christ are so amazing. We will all make mistakes, and we will all feel that we are not enough, that we have fallen short, but the grace of Christ covers it all. What we don't accomplish because of our shortcomings and our weaknesses is covered by the grace of Jesus Christ. Jesus fulfilled the demands of justice so that we don't have to, he has instead turned around and given us a different requirement, to do our best. Now we all are sometimes hard on ourselves about if we are doing our best, I certainly am. And sometimes it feels that we are hardly doing anything, but one thing another missionary pointed out to me was a scripture along the lines of him who prayeth not in secret has his reward but him that prayeth in secret, God shall reward openly. God sees our efforts and sees the things that we do even if we don't see it ourselves. And he will reward us because of our diligence, work, and faith. I know I already suggested it, but if you haven't listened to it yet, listen to "His Grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox. It is so good. </div>
<div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I love you all. I look forward to your emails that you send me. Remember that God loves you. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At least we know he is having some fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Missions are adventures, and the journey would not be complete</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
without some sort of apartment malfunction.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On my mission we had a washer at one of apartments that</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
turned one of our loads of clothes pink. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We never found out why the load went a </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
pink hue.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There was nothing in the load that was pink, red or any like color.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That load of laundry was an inside joke between me and my companion<br />
for a long time.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The missionaries are actually very well taken care of out in the field.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is just that when ever you venture out and live </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
on your own as a young person, it is not unusual to have some </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
sort of an apartment adventure. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chance sent home pictures that are very Chance-like.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Nature scenes and of course, some sort of critter he found.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
